Mark 10: 2-12 The Fundamental Blocks For Godly Marriage & Family
10:2 And Pharisees came to him, testing him with
the question, Is it right for a man to put away his wife? 10:3 And
he said to them in answer, What did Moses say you were to do? 10:4 And they said to him, Moses let us give her a
statement in writing, and be free from her.
10:5 But Jesus said to them, Because of your hard hearts he gave you
this law. 10:6 But from the first, male
and female made he them. 10:7 For this cause will a man go away from his
father and mother, and be joined to his wife; 10:8 And the two will become one flesh; so that
they are no longer two, but one flesh. 10:9
Let not that which has been joined together by God be parted by man. 10:10 And
in the house the disciples put questions to him again about this thing. 10:11 And he said to them, Whoever puts away his
wife and takes another, is false to his wife; 10:12 And if she herself puts away her husband and
takes another, she is false to her husband.
Principles & virtues:
1. God created Mankind, male and female He created them, in His Image.
2. God instituted marriage. He decreed that a man must leave his parents in order to be joined to his wife.
3. At this union, the two become one flesh, no longer two persons but one whole person. Husband and wife are One person, not two. An entity of union becoming One Whole. The marriage is a covenant relationship under the Godhead covering, through Jesus Christ. His Holy Spirit works in the marriage unit guiding and bonding the husband and wife through the Love of God and His Truths.
4. The marriage institution is God's design and means to procreate, birthing, growing and nurturing godly children under the teachings of Christ Jesus, the Head of the household.
5. The man must place his marriage relationship above relationship with his parents. That means, husband and wife come together to make immediately family decisions, through the counsel of God & His Word. Parental advice are welcomed, yet should not be the determining force in making decisions for the husband and wife.
6. Marriage is a covenant contract of union, i.e. unity between the man and the woman in a bond of love, peace and mutual respect. Any lifting of hand to strike at one another in any form harmful is forbidden, for it is a breach against God's Law of Love.
7. Any unfaithfulness is breaking of God's law of union, unity, peace and mutual respect. Husband and wife are to mutually submit to the Lordship of Christ Jesus, and then to each other.
8. Extra marital affairs is breaking the covenant bond of union as One before God, and is first a breaking away from Jesus' Lordship.
9. God designs marriage. He fixes the problems that man can not fix. Come to Him, allow God into your marriage life & relationship. He shall make new & whole a marriage you may think you can not fix any more. God can turn water into wine, ashes into beauty. With God all good things are possible. Trust Him with your marriage & family. He will create through your life a beautiful, godly marriage that transforms your entire life.
Prayer:
Father God, this day I acknowledge Your Sovereign design for marriage between one man and one woman. I commit my life and marriage to You. Please change my ways of looking at things, from Your perspective. Teach me what I need to know to experience the best marriage You have intended for me. Open my eyes to see the wonders of Your teachings and the moral guidelines that govern my marriage. Make my marriage a witness to Your Glory, a beautiful master piece that transforms lives, and a place where blessings flow to touch many lives for Jesus. In Jesus' Name I pray, amen.
